Gideon Raymond arrived into our home on August 30, 2012 at 2:35 PM! He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. We're so happy that God has blessed us with another healthy baby boy! His labor was shorter than his brothers, something which Mommy is VERY greatful for! Thank you to everyone who was praying and continues to pray. :)
The precise meaning of Gideon is "hewer" or "feller". Specifically one who fells trees but more generaly one who destroys anything, and hence some get the idea of a warrior. Gideon in the Bible hewed down the idol of Baal and the grove of trees and erected an altar to God in its stead. In the same way there are things in this day that must be torn down and replaced with that which honors God. Raymond is Papa Chub's name. It means "advisor and protector." When Godly advice is given, it can give protection to those who listen.
Grandma Camille gave Gideon this outfit. We thought it was quite appropriate for our household! :)
