Early labor was long, but easy, I stalled for a day or two. I was able to do things, but it was just emotionally hard. The hard part wasn't to long and everything went very smoothly!

We weren't sure if Joyce was going to be around, so I asked Amos' cousin, Elizabeth, to be a doula for me. She did a great job, thanks so much Elizabeth!
The word Jubilee in the Bible is translated from a Hebrew word which basically means "trumpet." It referred to a year set apart when liberty was to be proclaimed to all the inhabitants of the land. Trumpets were blown to celebrate the year of Jubilee on the day of atonement. In the year of Jubilee people received freedom from slavery, returned to land they had lost due to poverty, and were forgiven debts they owed. When Christ died for our atonement he gave us liberty from the debt and slavery of sin. One of the reasons we decided on this name was that her birth was so near the day when we celebrate our nation's independence. And, liberty is supposed to be one of the defining characteristics of the United States.
Amanda means "lovable" or "worthy of love" and is shared by one of my cousins who is also born on July 3rd. And Jubilee is quite lovable if I do say so myself. :D
